Abstract:Top grafting is a crucial technique for improving low-yield Camellia oleifera plantations. This article outlines the essential steps: tree selection, land preparation, pruning, timing, temperature requirements, and scion selection. It also details the procedures: sawing the rootstock, ash removal, cutting the rootstock, pruning the scion, embedding the scion, binding, moisture retention, shading, sun protection, and post-transplant care. In the first year of high grafting for C. oleifera, the tree canopy is basically formed; in the second year, abundant flowering occurs; and in the third year, yield is achieved, with the highest fresh fruit yield per plant reaching 3.67 kg and the yield reaching 2 670 kg·hm-2.
