State-owned forest farms serve as important entities in ecological construction and the protection, cultivation, and utilization of forest resources. The cultivation of precious tree species within these farms is an effective pathway for enhancing forest ecological functions, ensuring timber strategic reserves, and achieving sustainable forest management. This paper takes Taizi Mountain Forest Farm in Hubei Province as a case study. Based on forest resource inventory data and long-term management practices, it systematically reviews the current status of precious tree species resources, cultivation measures, and implementation outcomes. It points out that current precious tree species cultivation faces challenges such as low adoption rate of improved varieties, extensive management practices, insufficient technological innovation, and high cultivation costs. Countermeasures and suggestions are proposed from perspectives including improved variety selection and breeding, technological innovation, diversified investment, and industrial integration, aiming to provide a reference for the high-quality cultivation and sustainable management of precious tree species resources in state-owned forest farms.
