Abstract:Exploring the spatial and temporal variation patterns of vegetation net primary productivity (NPP)and its response to meteorological factors is of great significance for understanding the changes of vegetation ecological functions and accurately assessing the carbon sources and sinks of the ecosystems in Hubei Province.In this study, based on MOD17A3HGF remote sensing data and meteorological data, Slope trend analysis and correlation analysis were applied to analyse the spatial and temporal characteristics of NPP in Hubei Province from 2001 to 2022 and the influence of meteorological factors.The results showed that:(1)From 2001 to 2022, the annual average NPP in Hubei Province was 555.31g C·m?2, with the highest in 2015 and the lowest in 2001.(2)In the temporal dimension, there was a general trend of slow growth. In the spatial dimension, the spatial distribution of NPP in Hubei Province varied significantly, with NPP in Hubei Province being high in the west and low in the central-eastern part of the province, and overall the annual mean NPP showed a decreasing trend from northwest to southeast.(3)The correlation between NPP and precipitation in Hubei Province was significantly stronger than that with air temperature, and the area of Hubei Province where NPP was positively correlated with annual precipitation accounts for 89.67% of the total area, while the area of Hubei Province where NPP was positively correlated with annual air temperature accounts for 62.97% of the total area.Overall, there are obvious spatial and temporal differentiation characteristics of NPP in Hubei Province, and air temperature has little influence on the spatial and temporal distribution pattern of NPP, while precipitation has an important influence on the spatial and temporal distribution pattern of NPP.
