On January 13th, 2024, during the nationalsynchronized survey of overwintering waterbirds , surveyors observed and photographed two Clangula hyemalis on the Han River near the Cuiiiaii Dam in xiangzhou District, xiangy- ang City, Hubei Province . This officially reported the distribution of Clangula hyemalis in Hubei Province, confirming it as a new record for the avian species in the province .
