Abstract:Natural forests was the main important part of our country's forest resources, both the protection and restoration of the natural forest resources were not only related to the development and prosperity of forestry, but also related to the national strategy and national revitalization. Since the implementation of the Natural Forest Protection Project in 2000, Although Hubei province has made remarkable achievements, there were some problems in the development of forest resources and ecological environment protection, which would bring a challenge to the natural forest protection and restoration in the new period. Therefore, this paper summarized the achievements of the Natural Forest Protection Project in our province, analyzed the existing problems, and put forward some development suggestions for the natural forest protection and restoration in the future.
