Abstract:Release rule and different testing conditions on formaldehyde emission from two kinds of surface decorated wood-based panels with paper impregnated thermosetting resins were studied using a 1 m3 chamber. The results showed that surface treatment and base material affected formaldehyde release cycle, and two kinds of surface decorated wood-based panels has similar balance time. Edge sealing treatment reduced formaldehyde emission, the temperature and relative humidity were positively correlated to the formaldehyde emission, while the air exchange rate was negatively correlated to the formaldehyde emission.
