The characteristics of the site and the main factors affecting the survival of the afforestation in targeted barren hills were analyzed. Taking "water" as the center, the drought resistance technology for afforestation was proposed from the aspects of selection of drought-resistant tree species, water collection and site preparation, seedling treatment, afforestation methods, and forest land management.
