Abstract:By observing phenology and measuring growth, this study analyzed the relationship between phenological variation and growth of the second-generation Larix kaempferi grafting clones in the sub-high mountain area of western Hubei Province, providing a basis for further selection of breeding materials.The results showed that the average main shoot growth period of Larix kaempferi in this region was 217.6 days, and the average lateral shoot growth period was 216 days. There was obvious differentiation in phenological periods among different clones, and the variation degree of growth was greater, with variation coefficients of 32.55% and 33.21% respectively.Correlation analysis between growth period and growth amount revealed a significant positive correlation, with correlation coefficients ranging from 0.150 to 0.730, indicating that phenological periods had good predictability for growth.
