Planting poplar has become one of the important development patterns in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River bottomland. Based on the analysis of special geographic environment of the Yangtze River, the experiences and lessons of poplar planting in the area of bottomland has been summarized. According to the bottomland terrain conditions, seasonal flood, gale, sandy soils and other adverse factors, response plans has been raised to improve the level of poplar planting and poplar industry development in the area of bottomland.
