Abstract:In order to study the method of breaking seed dormancy and promoting early germination of Cyclocarya paliurus, we carried out 2 seedling tests with Cyclocarya paliurus seeds treated by different concentrations of gibberellin (GA?) solution, including "direct sowing after soaking" and "sowing after soaking and sand storage". The results showed that direct sowing after soaking did not break seed dormancy, with a germination rate of 0 in the sowing year, and seedlings emerged in the second year; sowing after soaking and sand storage could break dormancy, with seedlings emerging in both the first and second years. The total germination rate was 13.54%~28.13%, among which the emergence rate in the first year was 2.08%~5.21%, accounting for 9.1%~27.8% of the total emergence rate. The best method was soaking with 500 mg/L or 750 mg/L gibberellin solution followed by sand storage, which resulted in a first-year germination rate of 5.21%, accounting for 23.8% and 27.8% of the total seedling emergence rate, respectively.
