Abstract:Mansoniella cinnamomi is a deciduous pest due to feeding on the leaves of Cinnamomum camphora, which is one of the main afforestation tree species in the middle and lower Yangtze region, by its adult and nymph. Owning to the brownish keratoid spots caused by the pest’s piercing and sucking, the effective leaf area for photosynthesis decreases, and at last the plant vigor is weaken and the landscape is damaged. To investigate the risk status of this pest, multi-index method was employed to evaluate the risk of M.cinnamomi based on the forest pest risk analysis index system of China. When the values were assigned accoding to the nationwide distribution area, the risk result (R value) was 1.62 and M.cinnamomi was a moderate risk forest pest. However, when only Hubei province was consided, the R value was 1.99, which was very close to high risk level. In a word, this research results provided practical scientific evidence for the management of Mansoniella cinnamomi.
