Clavariaceae is a kind of edible and medicinal macrofungi includes several species of basidiomycete. Clavariaceae, with the great value of exploitation and research, can produce many bioactive natural products that be antibacterial, antioxidant and anticancer. To provide the theoretical basis for domestication, research and utilization, here, we present an overview of Clavariaceae on function, ecology, characteristics and phylogenetic analysis, and provide simple analysis on the development prospect of Clavariaceae in Yichang Area.
