Abstract:Abstract:Selecting the four inter planting modes of the young Juglans regia and Atractylodes macrocephala, platycodon grandiflorum,Scutellaria baicalensis and Dendranthema morifolium as research object, we conducted experiments to study the influence of the inter planting on the growth of young J. regia, and the changes of soil nutrient, and the changes of the production of medicinal materials with the change of canopy density. The results showed that it could significantly delay the height increment of young J. regia, and there were no significant effect on ground diameter increment after intercropping A. macrocephala,p. grandiflorum or S. baiealensis during a growing season.Intercropping different herbs showed quite different effects on soil nutrient content. We suggest that nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer should be added when intercropping S. baiealensis, besides the conventional fertilization.P. grandiflorum and D. morifolium had higher yield in high and low canopy density respectively. The choice of medicine should be on the basis of light conditions under young Juglans regia.
