Fraxinus hupehensis Chin. Shang et Su. sp. nov. is such a botanical species thatwas listed and published in second group by our country as a precious & rare and vergingon extinction species. It only distributed at the south foot of Dahong mountain,i. e. the bordering sector between Jingshan county and Zhongxiang city in Hubei province,and has become the unique vegetation form and constructive species in the region. This new species hassuperior quality in physical and mechanical properties, fast growth in prior stage, highsprouting power, tolerance to pruning, and easily propagating by cutting, so, it is a goodspecies for constructing timber stand(especially used for high-quail,ty furniture timber andsmallwood for countryside),fuelwood forest and water conservation forest(or water source'Snourishing and cherishing forest),and also a themes for high--rank potted plant,a beautifullandscape greening species,by the way,a species for breeding white wax insects.
